Sarasota County's Medical Education Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of medical simulation products and educational software, has landed a $1.8 million contract with the Army for 41 of its medical simulators which combine an airway, pulmonary and cardiovascular systems, trauma features, and METI's Combat Medical Advanced Simulation Training Learning Module. For nearly 30 years, Taurus has been in Miami manufacturing small arms. Taurus plans to create 123 new full time jobs, and invest $7.8 million for the purchase of new equipment and the construction/renovation of their 59,500 square foot facility which will be expanded by an additional 26,500 square feet.  (Read more)
